  The Sony Smart Watch 2 (Est. $200) is a solid, conservatively designed smartwatch that serves as a notification device for your Android smartphone. The screen doesn't have a sleep mode, so you can at least always tell the time. You can update your Facebook page and tweet directly from the smartwatch. There are a reasonable number of apps available to download, and the respectable three- to four-day battery life means you can use them without worrying constantly about recharging your smartwatch.
  

  Compatibility

  Android phones only. Any Android device running Android 4.0 or higher is compatible with the Sony Smart Watch 2. Sony, however, emphasizes its smartwatch compatibility with its own Xperia smartphones and tablets.
  

  Design

  Conservative design. Depending on your design sensibilities, the Sony Smart Watch 2 has either a "minimalist-style" or a "relatively uninspired" design. Either way, reviewers agree that the Smart Watch  2's design plays it safe. Its square, digital watch face is surrounded by a silver aluminum band. The silicon straps come in black and four bright colors and the leather straps are available in light brown and black. If you don't like this selection of straps, you can use any industry-standard 24 mm-wide watchband. The text on the screen is small but is readable in sunlight; you don't need to activate the backlight to read the display.
